CGAT '09 - Computer Games, Multimedia and Allied Technology 09 conference

CGAT'08 was a resounding success! This international academic conference was inaugurated by the Minister for Education and Finance of Singapore, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and attended by academics and industry experts from 18 different countries.
The Computer Games, Multimedia and Allied Technology 09 conference is scheduled to be held from 11th - 13th May 2009. The conference mantles diverse overarching tracks with stimulating technical sessions covering the conference theme of:Animation, AI, Multimedia, IPTV, Edutainment, Mobile, Virtual Reality, Simulation and IT Security.
The conference program offers insightful plenary and keynote addresses, stimulating technical sessions, Seminars and Panel discussions, poster sessions and multiple social and networking opportunities. The social events hold the promise of providing a ‘Uniquely Singapore’ experience.

SCOPE


The evidently expanding Global and Asian Gaming industry defines the need for the Computer Games, Multimedia and Allied Technology 09 conference at Singapore. The conference provides a platform for the international gaming community experts to discuss and deliberate with their Asian counterparts on the state-of-the-art, new research results, perspectives of future developments, and innovative applications relevant to games development and related areas. The conference shall strive to shed light on the inherent sociological and design differences between the East and the West while exploring the challenges faced by the Asian Gaming industry. The conference also provides an opportunity to the international and regional Gaming studios, Game production companies and Allied technology and service providers to showcase their technology, products and services at the concurrent industry symposium.

Submission


Authors should submit a complete paper in English of up to 8 A4 pages, using the submission procedure indicated below. The program committee will review all papers and the contact author of each paper will be notified of the result, by email. Each paper should clearly indicate the nature of its technical/scientific contribution, and the problems, domains or environments to which it is applicable. Authors must also indicate the conference track to which the paper is submitted. The paper must be carefully checked for correct grammar and spelling.

Procedure

  1. A “blind” paper evaluation method will be used. To facilitate that, the authors are kindly requested to produce and provide the full paper, WITHOUT any reference to the authors. The manuscript must contain, in its first page, the paper title, an abstract and list of keywords but NO NAMES OR CONTACT DETAILS WHATSOEVER are to be included in any part of this file.


  1. The contact author will then use the Computer Games, Multimedia and Allied Technology 09 web-based submission facility available at the conference web site, http://www.Cgames.com.sg to enter the contact information of all paper authors plus the file indicated in point 1, above. The facility will automatically send a submission acknowledgement, by email, to the author indicated as “contact author”. Please contact the secretariat if no acknowledgement is received.


  1. If the author is unable to use the web-based procedure then he/she can send the paper by e-mail to the secretariat attaching an additional file containing: the title,author(s), affiliation(s), contact details, a list of keywords and an abstract. Authors must also indicate the conference area (including the topics), to which the paper is submitted.


  1. The camera-ready format will be enforced only for accepted papers, but authors are encouraged to use it also for paper submissions, in order to reduce extra work later. Please follow the templates below :

Rich Text Format (RTF)and MS Word.
Due to space limitations in the Proceedings, the camera-ready version will be limited to 8 (eight) pages for full papers and 6 (six) for short papers (progress reports) If necessary, the number of pages may be increased up to a maximum of 12 (long presentations) and 8 (short presentations) at an additional cost which will be borne by the Author.

PROCEEDINGS


The accepted papers for the Computer Games, Multimedia and Allied Technology 09 will be included in a book of Conference proceedings, provided the presenter is registered by the due date. The Conference proceedings would also be available in electronic form (CD-ROM).The CD-ROM proceedings will be distributed to every attendee at the conference venue. Extra copies of the Conference proceedings would be available during the Conference days at the Secretariat at an additional cost.

PRESENTATIONS


Accepted Papers would be presented in the assigned technical sessions by the pre-registered authors as an oral presentation. In the absence of a pre-registered author any other registered Co-Author for that paper can make the oral presentation. Incase the first author or the Co-authors are unable to make the oral presentation they may delegate other academic expert deemed suitable to present and defend the paper and inform the Secretariat accordingly by 24th March 2009. Each oral presentation in the regular session will have 20 min. for the regular papers and 30 min. for the invited papers including the time taken for possible discussions.

PRE-REGISTRATIONS


The presenting authors of each accepted regular and invited papers will have to be registered by the 6th Apr 2009.
